Welcome to Year 5!
This term our topic is ‘Battles, bombs and bravery’ so we are learning all about World War II. We are learning about the key events of the war, evacuation, rationing and the role women played in the war.
In English we are going to be writing evacuee letters home and stories set in The Blitz.
In Science we are learning about the human aging process and our next unit will be about living things and their habitats.
Our whole class guided reading book this term is ‘Goodnight Mr. Tom’. We are using Reading VIPERS to support our understanding of this text and help us answer questions about it.
